PLAYERS

  • Play in accordance with the rules of the game.
  • Don't argue with an umpire. A player who disagrees with an umpire's decision should ask the Team Manager to discuss it with the senior field umpire at the next break.
  • Control your temper. Abuse of officials, 'sledging' opposing players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviour, and may breach your state, league or national Member Protection Policy.
  • Don't engage in any type of violence, on or off the field.
  • Work equally hard for yourself and your team, and both will benefit.
  • Be a good sport. Applaud all good play by your team or your opposition.
  • Treat all participants as you would like to be treated. Don't bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor on the field.
  • Co-operate with your coach, Team Manager, team-mates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition.
  • Participate for your enjoyment and benefit, as well as for the enjoyment and benefit of your teammates; not to please anyone else.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
  • Don't participate in bullying via social media. For more information about this, see the National Member Protection Policy.
  • Be responsible for your actions.

Excludes approaching umpires (Rule 5.10–5.12) - see below.

PARENTS/CARERS & SPECTATORS

  • Remember that you are there to help your child to enjoy the game.
  • Encourage your child's participation, but don't force it.
  • Teach your child that enjoyment is more important than winning.
  • Applaud good play, but don't criticise or ridicule errors by any player.
  • Lead by example, and respect all players, coaches, umpires, officials and spectators. Physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
  • Recognise all volunteers who contribute their time and energy to make the competition as good as possible.
  • Don't publicly criticise umpires. Raise any concerns privately with your child's Coach or Ground Manager.
  • Don't use remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability. Such remarks not only reflect poorly on you, but they let down your child's team and the Holroyd Parramatta Junior Australian Rules Football Club.
  • Respect Holroyd Parramatta Junior Australian Rules Football Club facilities and equipment at 'home' games, and opposing clubs' facilities and equipment at 'away' games.
  • Do not engage in physical and/or verbal abuse or conduct toward any player, official, umpire or supporter. Such actions are totally unacceptable.
  • Condemn the use of violence in any form by players, match or team officials or spectators.
