FIXTURE: June 26 at Fairfax Reserve
SCORES: Camden Blues 9.12-66 d Holroyd Parramatta 1.0-6
LADDER (6 teams): 6th
AWARDS: Player of the Week - Bryce Nolan. Moment of the Game - Jonah Erofeyeff. Encouragement Awards - Ryan Bragg & Jet Smith
It was great to see sunshine today after last week's very wet game.
The players had their best first quarter of any game this season, scoring a goal and keeping top-of-the-ladder Camden to only 17 points.
Spirits were high in anticipation of another close second quarter, but it wasn't to be. Our defence couldn't keep the Camden players from running through to score. Despite Bryce's fantastic work in the backs, without backup from the other players his task was impossible. The Blues scored a flurry of goals and behinds in that quarter and the third, and we couldn't match up.
By three-quarter time the 10-goal rule was in place, and Camden moved around their team to give us a better chance of scoring in the last quarter. We improved and Jonah got our heads up with a goal early, and a few more followed.
Let's keep up this positive play next week!
Thank you to goal umpire Darren Lloyd, and to Mark Nolan who carried the water for us this week.
