Our second home game in a row! How nice was that!
A lovely Sunday afternoon at Goanna Park to see our boys take on the Ingleburn Magpies.
It was a bit of a sloppy start again: boys not marking up; kicking to opposition; fumbling with the ball; all things that can be improved on.
Ingleburn knew they couldn't beat us, so I think they resorted to low tactics of going in with some hard play. Unfortunately we lost Christian early in the game and confirmed later on Sunday night he had broken his collarbone and will be out for approximately six weeks. We wish you a speedy recovery Christian!
Another casualty soon afterwards with Max Mansour taking a knock to the head that went unnoticed (it was difficult for the umpire to see), and he also went down in the same play with his head hitting the ground last. He was taken by ambulance to hospital, but fortunately was given the all-clear by the doctors.
Lachie also took a hit around the jaw area, but it wasn't enough to stop him from returning and finishing the game. Good stuff Lachie!
We kicked away in the third quarter, with seven goals scored; our game also picked up and we finished off pretty well despite the slow start.
Thanks to Jack, Mark, Vicki, George and Max for doing our 'field' duties; Ron and Steven for helping out at the Ground Manager desk; and our canteen helpers Sonia, Michelle and Deb. Thank you also to everyone who stayed around and helped clean up.
Go Goannas!
